The Young and the Restless is one of the longest-running soap operas on American TV, and its ending is nowhere in sight. The hit series will be back for four more seasons after CBS confirmed they’re renewing it through the 2027-28 season.

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, confirmed the show’s renewal and said they’re looking forward to continuing the legacy of this beloved series, which has been a staple of daytime television for over five decades.

“The talented cast and writers deliver compelling performances and stories on a daily basis and have provided iconic moments that have kept the show on top of the ratings and thrilled generations of fans for over five decades,” said Amy Reisenbach, and added she can’t wait to see what new twists and turns they have planned for the folks of Genoa City.

The Young and the Restless has been airing since 1973, and it celebrated its 50th anniversary just last year. This soap opera is already CBS’ longest-running series and this renewal will push it to its 55th season.

Renewing this series for another season was a no-brainer for CBS since it remains the network’s No. 1 daytime drama for over three decades, with an average of 3.50 million viewers this season.
