A brand new trailer for the Penny Dreadful: City of Angels spin-off has just landed, and it looks terrifying.
The spin-off series is set in 1930s LA, where things are starting to feel a little apocalyptic. Game of Thrones and Dark Crystal actress Natalie Dormer stars as the demon, Magda.
In the trailer, we see Magda punch a policeman in the face and proceed to wreak havoc around her. “Open your arms sister. I will give you many souls today,” she says in the clip.
The scene then cuts to the title card, showing a blood-red sky with eerie writing.
It looks like the spin-off series may be even more chilling than Penny Dreadful. You can read the official synopsis for the series below:
“When a grisly murder shocks the city, Detective Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) is embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of Los Angeles: from the building of the city’s first freeways and its deep traditions of Mexican-American folklore, to the dangerous espionage actions of the Third Reich and the rise of radio evangelism. Before long, Tiago and his family are grappling with powerful forces that threaten to tear them apart.”
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels will premiere April 26th.
