My Mom’s Murder is the latest true crime podcast getting its TV adaptation, and we finally know who’ll play the lead role. Chloë Grace Moretz has been tapped to star in this series, in addition to serving as one of its executive producers.

Based on Lauren Malloy’s podcast of the same name, My Mom’s Murder sees her confront the truth behind her mother’s death. Malloy grew up believing her mom died of a heart condition, only to later discover her death was actually an unsolved murder. She decides to embark on a quest to unearth hidden evidence about her mother’s life and death in an attempt to find out who killed her.

In addition to playing the lead role, Moretz will executive produce this series for MGM Television alongside AYR Media’s Aliza Rosen, Toluca Pictures’ Steve Stark and Stacey Levin, and Jackie Levine for Audible, while Malloy serves as one of the producers.

Moretz rose to prominence with the role in the Kick-Ass franchise, and went on to star in a wide range of hit movies throughout the 2010s, from Let Me In and Hugo to If I Stay and The Miseducation of Cameron Post. She most recently starred in Amazon’s sci-fi series The Peripheral and will next be seen in the Christmas comedy Oh. What. Fun.
