American Horror Story star promises “beautiful and shocking” final showdown.

Cody Fern, who plays the big bad in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, is excited for the world to see how the season wraps up. So far, we have seen the end of the world, witches and warlocks along with the return to the infamous Murder House from Season 1. Nonetheless, Fern claims that the best is yet to come.

“What I can say is, the final episode — Ryan (Murphy, executive producer) is setting up a battle royale,” he revealed to TheWrap.

“We’ve spent all season doing that. And nobody does a battle royale like Ryan does a battle royale. And there will be a lot of surprises and a lot of twists. I think that the last episode is thrilling, and tragic, and beautiful, and shocking,” Fern added.

He continued: “And it’s many things, and it was many things to all of us [shooting it]. It was a very hard episode to shoot emotionally, and I can’t wait for the world to see it. But yeah there are many surprises in store.”

Fern also hinted at a potential twist later in the show. So far, we have seen a rivalry develop between Michael Langden (Cody Fern) and the current Supreme, Cordelia (Sarah Paulson). It could be, however, that there is another witch he should be fearful of.

“He doesn’t know what Mallory’s powers are. He just knows she’s a very powerful witch. Because in his mind, he’s hell-bent on Cordelia, and that’s one of his flaws at this time,” Fern explained.

“He’s so focused on destroying Cordelia and making Cordelia suffer for what she’s done to him, that he doesn’t see what’s right in front of him.”

AHS airs Wednesdays on FX. You can catch up on season 8 on NOW TV and watch seasons 1-7 on Netflix now.
