Colin Farrell’s TV projects are few and far between, but they’re always worth waiting for! The Oscar-nominated actor will lead Apple TV’s upcoming private detective drama Sugar, and the streaming giant dropped a new trailer for this series ahead of its April release.

Apple TV+ describes Sugar as a contemporary, unique take on the private detective story. It stars Colin Farrell as John Sugar, a private investigator trying to solve the disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel, while unearthing long-buried Siegel family secrets along the way.

In addition to Farrell in the lead role, this series will also star Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Why Women Kill), Amy Ryan (The Wire), Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul), Lindsay Pulsipher (True Blood), Alex Hernandez (Invasion), Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Nate Corddry (Mindhunter), and James Cromwell (Succession).

Sugar isn’t the only promising TV series that Farrell has on the way. The Banshees of Inisherin star will return as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot aka Penguin from The Batman in the Max limited series The Penguin later this year.

Sugar was created for Apple TV+ by Mark Protosevich, and it will feature eight episodes directed by Fernando Meirelles. The first three episodes will hit Apple TV+ on April 5, while the remaining five will stream weekly.
