Tatiana Maslany is getting ready to lead Amazon Prime Video’s The Nightbeast, and she won’t have to do it all alone. Cory Michael Smith, Michael Dorman, and Miles Marthaller have been cast in key roles in this darkly comedic pilot.
Maslany will lead The Nightbeast as “a young mother unsatisfied with her seemingly perfect suburban life who begins an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet – a surprisingly se-y man called the Nightbeast.”
Leah Rachel and Travis Jackson created this series for Amazon Prime Video, while Jamie Babbit will direct and executive produce the pilot. Maslany is also coming on board as one of the producers, with Peter Warren, Justin Levy, Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Kristen Campo joining her as EPs.
Cory Michael Smith, best known as the star of Gotham, joined the series as the titular Nightbeast. His notable TV credits also include roles in Olive Kitteridge, Utopia, and Transatlantic, and we’ll next see him as Chevy Chase in SNL 1975.
Michael Dorman and Miles Marthaller joined the cast Amy’s husband Eric and their young son Miles. Dorman is fresh off starring in the Paramount+ series Joe Pickett, while Marthaller Marthaller is a rising child star, who made guest appearances on The Good Doctor and the Hallmark film Round and Round.
