Curb Your Enthusiasm ended its run after twelve seasons—and it did it on a high note! The numbers are in for the finale of Larry David’s acclaimed comedy series, and it managed to attract the biggest audience of Season 12.

Curb Your Enthusiasm came to an end on April 7, and 1.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the farewell episode across HBO and Max. These are quite impressive numbers and they mark the largest audience for a Season 12 episode and the largest overall since the Season 10 finale, which attracted 1.4 million viewers.

David discussed the ending of Curb Your Enthusiasm on The Today Show, and explained he decided to pull the plug because he aged out of the role, but added he couldn’t imagine ever having more fun than he did doing this show.

“I’m too old to really be on camera every single week now. To act the way I do on this show, how can I continue to act like that? It’s insane. Yeah, I can do it in my 50s and 60s to mid-70s. I’m not going into the 80s acting like that!” explained David.

Curb Your Enthusiasm saw Larry David play a fictionalized, highly cynical version of himself, and it ended its run over 25 years after it started its life as a one-hour special Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm in 1999.
