“Dare Me” is Canceled at USA Network

Marlo Kelly and Herizen F. Guardiola in "Dare Me"

USA Network has pulled the plug on its cheerleader drama after one season only.

Dare Me, a series based on the book of the same name by Megan Abbott, will not return for a second season. However, according to Variety, the show’s producer is looking to shop it around and finding it a home elsewhere.

Dare Me dove into the cutthroat world of competitive high school cheerleading. It follows the fraught relationship between two best friends after a new coach arrives to bring their team to prominence. While the girls’ friendship is put to the test, their young lives are changed forever when a shocking crime rocks their quiet suburban world.

The series starred Willa Fitzgerald as Coach Colette French, Herizen Guardiola as Addy Hanlon, and Marlo Kelly as Beth Cassidy. Series regulars included Rob Heaps, Zach Roerig, and Paul Fitzgerald as well as Joyful Drake, Tammy Blanchard, Antonio J. Bell, and Alison Thornton in recurring parts.
