Daredevil: Born Again will reunite us with many cast members featured in the original Netflix series, and another fan-favorite just joined the pack. New set photos confirmed Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher.
Bernthal made his debut on Netflix’s Daredevil in 2016 before getting his own spin-off series The Punisher, which ran on Netflix for two seasons. This series was removed from Netflix in 2022, along with all the other original Marvel shows after Disney regained the license for them, but their enormous popularity eventually inspired Daredevil: Born Again.
Bernthal previously teased his return by posting an image of himself as Frank Castle on social media last month. Things became official after photos from the Daredevil: Born Again set emerged online, showing the Punisher alongside Charlie Cox’s eponymous hero, with his head and costume soaked in blood.
Cox and Bernthal aren’t the only stars of the original Netflix series coming back for the Disney+ reboot. Daredevil: Born Again will also star Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter.
Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ next year, and it will feature 18 episodes, split into two halves.
