There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the fifth season of The Boys, and the casting department just added some more fuel to the fire. Daveed Diggs joined the final season of Amazon Prime Video’s hit superhero satire in a mystery role.

Diggs landed a series regular role in the final season of The Boys, but character details are being kept under wraps. He joined the show’s impressive ensemble cast, which also includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, and Claudia Doumit. Jensen Ackles will be featured as a series regular in Season 5, returning as Soldier Boy.

Diggs rose to prominence with his Tony-winning performance in Hamilton, while playing the dual roles of Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette. He went on to lead Blindspotting and served as writer and executive producer of a TV series inspired by this indie drama. His notable TV credits include The Get Down, Black-Ish, and Snowpiercer, in addition to a long list of voice roles.

The Boys will wrap up with its upcoming fifth season, but this won’t mark the ending of this franchise. Its spin-off Gen V is coming back for Season 2, and Amazon Prime Video is officially plotting two more – The Boys: Mexico and Vought Rising.
