Goosebumps will embrace the anthology format when it returns to Disney+ for its second season, and the streamer found a perfect man to lead it. David Schwimmer landed one of the key roles in the next chapter of the horror comedy, based on R.L. Stine’s hit book series.

According to Disney’s official logline, the show’s second season will center on teenage siblings who find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994 after triggering a chain of events that unraveled this profound mystery.

Schwimmer is the first actor cast in Season 2 after Disney+ decided to go down the anthology route with this series. His character Anthony is described as a former botany professor and divorced parent of teenage twins, who must juggle the responsibilities of overseeing an aging parent while having his kids for the summer.

Schwimmer is best known as the star of the hit sitcom Friends, and he rose to prominence while playing Ross Geller through its ten-season run on NBC. He went on to receive his second Emmy nod for playing Robert Kardashian in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story and most recently starred in the British sitcom Intelligence.
