The virtual version of Comic-Con was in the full swing this weekend and brought some amazing news our way. One of the most exciting moments of the entire event came when Showtime dropped a new trailer for the upcoming season of Dexter, subtitled New Blood.

The revival of the beloved crime drama is set to premiere on November 7th. The first trailer sees Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan trying to escape his crimes by starting a new life in a small town, as a mild-mannered man Jim Lindsay who leads a seemingly ordinary life.

Clyde Phillips returns as showrunner for Dexter: New Blood, but he didn’t want this revival to simply serve as another season of the show. During the Comic-Con panel, Phillips explained that they wanted to “acknowledge that nearly 10 years have passed and we pick up with Dexter being in another place far away from Miami.”

In addition to Michael C. Hall, Dexter: New Blood will also mark the return of Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow, who previously starred in the original series. The cast will also feature Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, David Magidoff, and Clancy Brown, who is expected to play the role of the main villain in the new season.
