The historical adventure series Renegade Nell is hitting Disney+ in just two weeks, and they’re welcoming it in style! The streaming giant dropped a new trailer for the Louisa Harland-led series to tease its upcoming premiere.
Renegade Nell was created for Disney+ by Sally Wainwright, and here’s what it has in store according to the streamer’s official logline:
“Nell Jackson, a quick-witted and courageous young woman finds herself framed for murder and unexpectedly becomes the most notorious outlaw in 18th-century England. But when a magical spirit called Billy Blind appears, Nell realizes her destiny is bigger than she ever imagined.”
Harland (Derry Girls) plays the titular heroine in this promising series, while the supporting cast includes Joely Richardson (The Gentlemen), Adrian Lester (The Undeclared War), Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso), Craig Parkinson (Grace), Frank Dillane (The Girlfriend Experience), Alice Kremelberg (The Sinner), and Pip Torrens (The Nevers).
The BAFTA-award-winning writer Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley) created this series for Disney+ and she described Nell as “a ball of irreverent, blustering energy, fighting against the privileged gatekeepers of English society in 1705, battling to contain mysterious forces within her.”
Renegade Nell will premiere on Disney+ on March 29, and it will feature eight episodes.
