After a lot of anticipation, the Disney+ adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is coming our way this year. We’ll have to wait another two months to finally watch this series, but the streamer gave us a taste of things to come in a brand-new teaser trailer.

According to its official synopsis, Percy Jackson and The Olympians “tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.”

Percy (Walker Scobell) must join forces with his friends Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Glover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) and journey across America to find it and restore order to Olympus. In addition to the leading trio, this series will also feature guest appearances from Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Virginia Kull, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Glynn Turman, and the late Lance Reddick.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on Rick Riordan’s book series of the same name. He came on board as one of its co-writers and executive producers and promised a faithful adaptation, made with the fans of the original novels in mind.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere on Disney+ on December 20, and it will feature a total of eight episodes.
