Inside Out 2 is smashing box office records around the world right now, and this universe will keep expanding. Pixar’s chief creative officer Pete Docter revealed that Disney+ is plotting a spin-off series set in the same world as this animated franchise.

Inside Out movies center on a young girl named Riley, and explore the inner workings of her mind through a series of personified emotions administering her thoughts and actions. The first film introduced us to Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness, while the second features a wide variety of new emotions that Riley has to deal with once she reaches adolescence.

Pete Docter, who directed the first Inside Out film and produced the second, told Entertainment Weekly that a spin-off series is coming to Disney+ next spring.

“In the first film, remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird… We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool,” explained Docter.

Bringing Inside Out for another ride makes total sense for Pixar and Disney given its commercial success. The first film won an Oscar and grossed $858.8 million worldwide, while the second grossed $380 million worldwide after a month in the theatres.
