Buzzing for the Lizzie McGuire reboot? So are we. Unfortunately, production has been postponed.

The bad news comes in light of Lizzie McGuire creator Terri Minsky stepping down from his role as showrunner. No new showrunner has been named and the transition has caused a delay in production.

The reboot will see Hilary Duff reprising her role as the show’s titular character. This time, Lizzie is about to turn 30 and is navigating the roller coaster ride of adult life. The cartoon form of her 13-year-old self will be making a comeback and some old cast members will be returning to help her along the way.

“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.”

The Lizzie McGuire reboot subsequently has no set release date. Stay posted for updates.
