Disney+ Series “Renegade Nell” Gets March Release Date

If Disney+ happens to be your favorite streaming service, you’ll be happy to hear they have another amazing series on the way this spring. The historical series Renegade Nell starring Louisa Harland will officially premiere this March.

Disney+ describes the show’s heroin Nell Jackson as “a quick-witted and courageous young woman, finds herself framed for murder and unexpectedly becomes the most notorious outlaw in 18th-century England”, who realizes her destiny is bigger than she ever imagined after coming across a magical spirit called Billy Blind.

Derry Girls star Louisa Harland will lead this series, and she’ll be joined by Joely Richardson (The Tudors), Adrian Lester (The Undeclared War), Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso), Craig Parkinson (Grace), Frank Dillane (The Girlfriend Experience), Alice Kremelberg (The Sinner), and Pip Torrens (The Nevers) in supporting roles.

This series was written and created for Disney+ by the BAFTA-award-winning writer Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley), while Ben Taylor (S-x Education) came on board as a lead director. They were also credited as executive producers alongside Faith Penhale, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point, plus Johanna Devereaux for Disney+.

Renegade Nell will feature a total of eight episodes, set to premiere on Disney+ on March 29.
