If you’re in the mood for a medical procedural with a high-luxury twist, Ryan Murphy’s new ABC series is just the thing you’re searching for. The first full trailer for Doctor Odyssey is here and it sees Joshua Jackson dealing with medical emergencies on a luxury cruise ship.
Doctor Odyssey centers on Max Bankman (Jackson), the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder, who must navigate unique medical crises miles from the shore with his small but mighty medical team.
The first trailer sees the Odyssey captain Robert Massey (Don Johnson) welcoming Max on board by telling him, “This ship is heaven. Our mission is to preserve the dream. And that’s why you’re here. Keep these dreamers safe.”
In addition to Jackson and Johnson, the cast of Doctor Odyssey also includes Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale, and the Canadian singer Shania Twain, whose surprise appearance was confirmed in the new trailer.
Doctor Odyssey was created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, who are also executive producing it alongside Joshua Jackson, Paris Barclay, Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich. It will premiere on ABC on September 26.
