Peacock is in the process of casting its limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist and its ensemble is a true embarrassment of riches. Don Cheadle is the latest A-list star to join the cast of this mini-series, set in the aftermath of one of Muhammad Ali’s most infamous fights.

According to Peacock’s official logline, Fight Night will be set in Atlanta and follow “the heavyweight fight and criminal underground heist that introduced the world to the city dubbed ‘the Black Mecca’ and the cop and the hustler at the center of it all.”

The series will center on an infamous armed robbery that took place after Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight. Cheadle joined the series in the role of JD Hudson, one of Atlanta’s first Black detectives who was in charge of Ali’s security detail and the robbery.

He joins the star-studded cast of this project, which also includes Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, and Myles Bullock, plus Dexter Darden in the role of Muhammad Ali.

Cheadle most recently starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion. He returned as his MCU character James Rhodes, the role he famously took over from his Fight Night co-star Terrence Howard.
