Ryan Murphy is plotting his next ABC series Dr. Odyssey, and he’s slowly rounding out the cast of this project. Golden Globe winner Don Johnson joined the leading man Joshua Jackson in this promising medical procedural.

Murphy co-wrote this series alongside Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, but plot details are being kept under wraps. We only know this project will be a medical procedural, and Deadline reports it will be set on a cruise ship. ABC didn’t share any details about the characters played by Jackson and Johnson.

Johnson is a Hollywood veteran who rose to prominence during the 80s and 90s, with lead roles in the hit series Miami Vice and Nash Bridges. He recently reprised the role from the latter show in the Nash Bridges revival film, in addition to starring in Watchmen, Blood & Oil, and From Dusk till Dawn: The Series.

Dr. Odyssey hails from writers Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, who’ll executive produce the show alongside Jackson, director Paris Barclay, plus Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich. This is the first series Murphy developed for ABC after moving his overall deal from Netflix to 20th Television.
