Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen both have many amazing projects under their belt, and they’re finally getting ready to join forces. They’ll lead the upcoming romantic dramedy The Miniature Wife, which landed a straight-to-series order at Peacock.

Based on Manuel Gonzalez’s short story, The Miniature Wife is a marital dramedy that explores the power imbalances between spouses through the story of Lindy and Les, who find themselves in the middle of a relationship crisis in the wake of a technological accident.

In addition to playing lead roles, Banks and Macfadyen are also coming on board as executive producers. They’ll be joined by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner, who co-created this series and serve as its showrunners. Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer are also executive producing for Media Res.

Banks mostly focused on her work behind the camera in recent years, directing Charlie’s Angels and Co–ine Bear. She also appeared in the Apple TV+ dramedy The Beanie Bubble with Zach Galifianakis and Sarah Snook.

The two-time Emmy winner Macfadyen is best known for playing Tom Wambsgans on HBO’s Succession. He’ll next appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, in addition to being attached to the historical drama Death by Lightning alongside Michael Shannon.
