Amazon Prime Video’s series Criminal cast several major stars in recent weeks, and another A-lister just hopped on board. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will join the likes of Charlie Hunnam and Adria Arjona in Ed Brubaker’s intriguing crime drama.

Based on the graphic novel series created by Brubaker and Sean Phillips, Criminal will be set in an interlocking universe of crime stories. Brubaker will serve as its co-showrunner and executive producer along with Jordan Harper, while Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden have been tapped to direct the first four episodes.

Clarke’s character Mallory has been described as “a slick and daring armed robber, as quick with a gun as she is with her wits” and “a woman on the edge, living on the wrong side of the law and hiding secrets that will bring her and her entire crew into the danger zone.”

Her character will be involved in a passionate Bonnie-and-Clyde-like affair with Ricky Lawless, played by Gus Halper. The cast of Criminal also includes Charlie Hunnam, Richard Jenkins, John Hawkes, Adria Arjona, Logan Browning, Kadeem Hardison, Pat Healy, and Taylor Sele.

Clarke rose to prominence during her time on Game of Thrones and earned four Emmy Awards nominations for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen. We’ve most recently seen her in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion and the sci-fi romance film The Pod Generation.
