Emily in Paris was one of the most buzzed-about TV shows of 2020, and its viewership numbers reflect that. Ahead of the filming of the second season in the City of Love, Netflix bosses revealed this was the most popular comedy series of 2020 on this streaming service.

Emily in Paris followed the journey of a young American woman whose life turns upside down after she lands her dream job in Paris. According to Netflix, the show was watched by 58 million households in the first 28 days following its launch, making it their most successful comedy series of last year.

Lily Collins, who played the titular role in the Golden Globe-nominated series, couldn’t be happier about the news and she’s looking forward to being back in Paris and continuing this amazing journey. “It’s an honor to be associated with a project that provided people with some much-needed relief during a trying time when everyone was looking for a reason to smile and laugh,” said Collins in an official statement.

The production on Season 2 already started in Paris, with Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, and more returning to star.
