Apple TV+ has given us one of its most acclaimed series in recent years with Slow Horses, and they’re now getting ready to adapt another book by Mick Herron. Down Cemetery Road is coming to this streaming service, with Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson in lead roles.

Down Cemetery Road will center on Sarah Tucker (Wilson), who enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson) after a local girl in her neighborhood disappears in the aftermath of a house explosion in her quiet Oxford suburb.

Morwenna Banks, one of the Slow Horses writers, will serve as the lead writer on this project. She’s also executive producing it alongside Thompson, Herron, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash, while Natalie Bailey serves as lead director.

Jay Hunt, Apple TV+’s creative director for Europe, has high hopes for this project, especially after they managed to round out such an impressive cast.

Down Cemetery Road has all the hallmarks of Mick Herron’s funny and acerbic writing, and I’m delighted we will be bringing it to life for Apple TV+ with such a stellar cast. Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson will make it an unmissable companion piece for Slow Horses on our service,” said Hunt in a statement.
