Eric Stonestreet has been looking for the next big thing ever since Modern Family ended its run, and it seems his search is finally over. The Emmy-winning actor is gearing up to lead Amazon Prime Video’s half-hour single-camera comedy series Home Team and serve as one of its executive producers.

Home Team is a comedy with a big heart and a love letter to father-son relationships, which follows Scott Hansen (Stonestreet) as he tries to get his life back on track in a new workplace and learn how to finally live in the moment after moving his dad into a retirement community.

Jason Belleville wrote this series for Amazon Prime Video and developed the story with  Austin Winsberg. Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions, The Tannenbaum Company, Lionsgate Television, and Amazon MGM Studios will be in charge of producing this project.

Stonestreet is coming on board as one of the executive producers, alongside Omaha’s Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz and Ben Brown, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang for The Tannenbaum Company, and Thruline Entertainment’s Steven Kavovit.

Stonestreet won two Emmy Awards while playing Cameron Tucker on ABC’s hit comedy series Modern Family. His recent TV credits include guest roles in American Auto and The Santa Clauses.
