After making a cameo on the final season of Reservation Dogs, Ethan Hawke is gearing up for another collaboration with Sterlin Harjo. The four-time Oscar winner will star in Harjo’s upcoming noir drama The Sensitive Kind, which has landed a pilot order at FX.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, and this project has simply been described as a Tulsa noir about a guy who knows too much. In addition to writing this project, Harjo is coming on board as its director and executive producer, with Hawke and Garrett Basch joining him as EPs.
The Sensitive Kind would reunite Hawke and Harjo for the second time, following the actor’s cameo in the penultimate episode of Reservation Dogs. He made quite an impression as the estranged father of Devery Jacobs’ Elora Danan, giving gravitas to the complicated man who’s been absent from her life for as long as she can remember.
The Sensitive Kind only received a pilot order so far, but it’s safe to expect FX will give it a full series order given their amazing track record with Sterlin Harjo. He co-created Reservation Dogs alongside Taika Waititi and signed an overall deal with FX Productions before this acclaimed comedy series ended its run last year.
