Euphoria created quite a splash with its second season, and it was just a matter of time before major awards started coming its way. The HBO teen drama was one of the biggest winners at the MTV Movie & TV Awards and walked away with a total of four awards.
Euphoria was in the running for one of the night’s biggest honors—the best show. It managed to beat Inventing Anna, Loki, Squid Game, Ted Lasso, and Yellowstone to win this award, in addition to picking up three more trophies.
The show’s stars Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney were both in the running for the best performance in a show, but Zendaya came out victorious. Euphoria also won the “Here for the Hookup” award and the trophy for the best fight for the showdown between Cassie and Maddy.
It was also a big night for Marvel’s Disney+ show Loki, which walked away with two awards—the best breakthrough performance (Sophia Di Martino) and best team (Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and Owen Wilson). As for unscripted categories, Selling Sunset and RuPaul’s Drag led the way with two awards each.
The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards came back to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on June 5 with Vanessa Hudgens and Tayshia Adams hosting the ceremony.
