If you’re a Black Mirror fan, you are probably starting to wonder if the new season is approaching any time soon. Here is everything we know about the new series so far.

When is it coming?

No release date has been confirmed yet but we can make an educated guess based on the show’s previous release patterns.

Season three arrived October 2016 and season 4 came in December 2017. It therefore seems reasonable to expect the show at the end of the year.

We know that shooting began for season 5 in early 2018. Even if we have to wait until 2019, we’re hoping that Charlie Brooker will treat us with another Christmas episode like “White Christmas.”

What will it be about?

Well, if we had to guess, we’d say it’s going to be about how bleak the future is. Oh, and about how bad technology is too.

As for the specifics, we know that one episode is set in the 1980s. NME reported that they had been asked to send copies of their old issues from forty years ago. The Black Mirror team were also caught shooting in Croydon by a retro-style WHSmith.

Who’s in it?

Honestly, who knows? The show is notorious for keeping its cast quiet until closer to the release date. It’s also highly unlikely we will see any of the previous cast return. This isn’t American Horror Story.

When is the trailer here?

It’s too early to say. It will probably much closer to the time, but hopefully we’ll get an individual teaser for each episode like we did with Season 4.
