The fourth season of the Paramount+ series Evil was a long time coming, and it will mark the show’s final chapter. The streamer announced that the upcoming season of Robert and Michelle King’s supernatural drama will officially wrap up its story.

This psychological mystery series explores the origins of evil through a story of three people from different walks of life, who are trying to investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and hauntings.

Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi led the cast, and they were joined by Kurt Fuller, Marti Matulis, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, Dalya Knapp, Christine Lahti, Michael Emerson, Ashley Edner, and Andrea Martin in supporting roles.

Jeff Grossman, the executive vice president of programming at Paramount+, confirmed the show’s cancelation and praised its creators Robert and Michelle King for coming up with a unique and deeply entertaining way of exploring the intersection of religion and science.

“We thank Robert, Michelle, and the immensely talented cast and crew of Evil and are incredibly proud of their collective work on the series. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for these characters, in what is sure to be a nail-biting, wild ride of a final season,” said Grossman in a statement.

Season 4 production will start shortly in New York City, and Paramount+ ordered four bonus episodes to allow the masterminds behind Evil to neatly wrap up the story.
