Ryan Murphy has several promising projects on the way right now, and Grotesquerie is showing a lot of promise. FX dropped the first full trailer for this horror series starring Niecy Nash-Betts and Micaela Diamond ahead of its premiere in September.
Grotesquerie will center on two women from different walks of life, as they try to string together clues and find themselves ensnared in a sinister web while trying to solve a mysterious murder.
“A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon feels these crimes are eerily personal as if someone – or something – is taunting her… With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan, a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian,” reads the show’s official logline.
In addition to Nash-Betts and Diamond, the cast of this series also includes Travis Kelce, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin. Ryan Murphy created the series alongside Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, and he’s coming on board as one of the directors with Max Winkler, Martin Woodall, and Elegance Bratton.
