Fans Save “One Day at a Time”

Justina Machado, Isabella Gomez, and Marcel Ruiz in "One Day at a Time" (2017).

One Day at a Time has received a few more days.

A fourth season of the Netflix comedy will be coming our way after the series was saved following cancellation earlier this year.

At the time, Netflix had stated that the viewership numbers which the show received did not warrant making a fourth season. While the streaming service is notorious for not actually divulging its figures, the series was much loved by critics.

The cancellation prompted an online fan campaign to save the show about a Cuban-American army veteran with PTSD, her children, and her mother.

And now it has been!

Pop TV has come to the aid of One Day at a Time and picked up the 1970s remake for a fourth season.

“We’d especially like to thank all of the fans for their undying support, helping us turn #SaveODAAT into #MoreODAAT,” said executive producers and co-showrunners Gloria Calderón Kellett and Mike Royce in a statement.

“#SAVEODAAT is old news… #MoreODAAT is more like it!!” tweeted star Rita Moreno.

The Alvarez family is set to return in 2020 with 13 more episodes.
