The Umbrella Academy is one of Netflix’s most beloved series ending its run this year, and its final chapter is just around the corner. The streaming giant recently teased the show’s fourth season by releasing a series of character posters and confirmed the summer release date.
Based on The Umbrella Academy comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, this superhero series centered on a group of estranged siblings with extortionary powers who must come together and face a looming threat to humanity in the wake of their father’s death.
Season 4 will kick off with siblings trying to make sense of a new timeline dictated by their father, where they no longer have their powers.
“That’s not the only oddity in this timeline, where the stakes are higher than ever before – there are new enemies who want to see them wiped from existence, but how do they face them without their powers? And will the siblings ever get them back?” reads Netflix’s press release.
Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore are expected to return in their respective roles in Season 4. The Umbrella Academy will be back for its grand finale on August 8.
