Harry and Jack Williams are plotting the thriller series The Assassin, and this project just found its leading duo. Freddie Highmore and Keeley Hawes will lead this promising Amazon Prime Video drama.
Hawes will lead the series as a retired assassin Julie, whose thorny reunion with her estranged son Edward (Highmore) on a remote Greek island goes awry when her past comes back to haunt her.
“Armed with questions around new information on his paternity, Edward battles to find the right time to speak to his frustratingly distant mother. But when the moment finally presents itself, things take a deadly turn as Julie’s dangerous past catches up with her and they are forced to flee the island and go on the run together,” reads the show’s official logline.
Keeley Hawes is a three-time BAFTA TV Award nominee, with over 80 projects to her name. She rose to prominence with roles in Spooks and Ashes to Ashes, and most recently starred in the acclaimed TV shows It’s a Sin, Bodyguard, Mrs Wilson, and Orphan Black: Echoes.
Freddie Highmore is a child star, whose early credits include Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He built a successful TV career into adulthood with roles in Bates Motel and The Good Doctor, which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination.
