“Friends” Fans Will Have to Wait Until May to Stream the Series

After the clock struck a new year, the fan-favorite show left Netflix.

Friends fans will have to wait until Spring 2020 and the launch of HBO Max to watch the series. The new streaming service acquired the rights to all 236 episodes under a five-year deal which totaled around $425 million.

HBO Max will debut sometime in May 2020 and it will cost $14.99 a month. Until the launch, the only way to watch Friends is through Amazon, Apple iTunes, Google Play, purchasing the DVDs, or through reruns on cable television.

Friends aired on NBC from 1994-2004 and it followed the lives of New Yorker friends Ross (David Schwimmer), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), along with Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), and Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc).

This isn’t the only beloved series leaving Netflix, The Office will be departing at the end of 2020 and it will be available on NBCUniversal’s Peacock starting in 2021.
