After a long break, Fargo finally returned for its fifth season last year, but will this story continue anytime soon? FX boss John Landgraf recently dropped hints about this project and said its future depends on how Noah Hawley’s Alien series pans out.
Hawley created Fargo for FX in 2014, and this anthology series is still going strong one decade later. Its latest season starred Jon Hamm and Juno Temple, and it was met with positive reviews, in addition to receiving three Golden Globe nominations.
Fargo became a true critical darling for FX, and they later tapped Hawley to work on another acclaimed series, Legion. Their third collaboration Alien is on the way, and it’s set three decades before the events of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Alien.
Since Hawley happens to be the mastermind behind both shows, their futures are inseparably linked, and FX is open to bringing Fargo back at one point.
“It’s a matter of timing because I’m hoping Noah’s going to be working subsequent seasons of Alien and really try to turn that around fast. But my ears always perk up when he says he’s interested in approaching more Fargo and I think he did an incredible job this year with season five,” explained FX boss John Landgraf.
