FX on Hulu really turned up the heat with the first season of The Bear and the second serving is on the way. This rookie drama became an instant hit, bringing in rave reviews, and FX ordered up Season 2 only a month after its premiere.
The Bear follows the adventures of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef who returns to Chicago to run a family sandwich shop following his brother’s suicide and tries to bring it back to its former glory while struggling with his grief.
Christopher Storer created the series and serves as co-showrunner with Joanna Calo. The duo released an official statement thanking FX for bringing this show back for another round.
“We are so grateful to FX, our insanely talented cast, our crew who worked hard, fast, and in the dead of winter, not to mention everyone who watched. And we can’t wait to bring you all back to The Bear in 2023,” said the duo in a statement.
The Bear premiered on FX on Hulu on June 23, and it was immediately met with rave reviews, scoring 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In addition to White, the ensemble cast of this dramedy also includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
