Johnny Wactor, best known for playing Brando Corbin on the hit soap opera General Hospital, passed away at the age of 37. Wactor’s co-star and fans sent condolences to his family after he died in Los Angeles following a fatal shooting.

Wactor was reportedly shot by three men attempting to steal a catalytic converter from his car, after trying to shield a female co-worker. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Wactor’s talent agent David Shaul released a statement confirming his death and described him as a spectacular human being.

“Not just a talented actor who was committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. Standing for hard work, tenacity, and a never-give-up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be,” said Shaul in a statement.

Wactor made his acting debut in the series Army Wives and went on to play one of the lead roles in NBC’s supernatural drama Siberia. He’s best known as Brando Corbin from General Hospital, and we’ve seen him appear in over 160 episodes of the popular soap opera between 2020 and 2022.
