Starz has been expanding the Power universe for a full decade, and they’re showing no signs of stopping. Power: Origins has been announced as the latest spin-off in this franchise, and it will chronicle the origin story of the two fan favorites, Ghost and Tommy.

Power originally premiered on Starz in 2014 and stayed on the air for six seasons before ending its run in 2020. Even after this series came to an end, several spin-offs continued its legacy, including Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force.

This franchise will keep expanding with the newly announced prequel series Power: Origins, which will take us to the early days of the beloved duo Ghost and Tommy. Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora portrayed them in the original series, and Starz is yet to cast the younger versions of these characters.

Kathryn Busby, president of programming for Starz, confirmed this prequel in an official statement and said it feels amazing to green-light another Power series as we approach the 10th anniversary of this franchise.

“It is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe.” We can’t wait to see how Origins will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience,” said Busby.
