Good Omens was supposed to wrap up with its upcoming third season, but these plans have been scrapped by Amazon Prime Video. Aziraphale and Crowley will get a chance to finish their journey in the final 90-minute episode instead of getting a full season to say goodbye.
Based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s cult novel of the same name, Good Omens centers on the adventures of angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, unlikely friends who serve as representatives of Heaven and Hell on Earth. They decide to join forces to stop the impending arrival of the Antichrist and prevent Armageddon after getting used to their pleasant life on Earth.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant lead the cast of this series, and they were joined by a large ensemble of amazing supporting players over the years. Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Derek Jacobi, Brian Cox, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Frances McDormand were a part of the show’s cast over the course of the previous two seasons.
Good Omens was renewed for the third and final season by Amazon Prime Video, but these plans were put on hold after the disgraced author Neil Gaiman offered to step away. The series will now continue its run without his involvement, and it will wrap up with a 90-minute final episode instead of getting a full season.
