The masterminds behind Gordita Chronicles spent over a year looking for a new home for this series, and their search is finally over! Tubi is bringing this comedy series back for another ride after Max canceled it and removed it from their streaming service after one season.

Gordita Chronicles follows the adventures of Cucu “Gordita” Castelli (Olivia Goncalves), a young girl who left her carefree life in Santo Domingo behind and immigrated to Miami with her family. They are determined to take charge of their destiny in pursuit of the “American Dream.”

In addition to Goncalves in the lead role, the show’s cast also includes Diana-Maria Riva, Juan Javier Cardenas, Olivia Goncalves, Savannah Nicole Ruiz, Noah Rico, and Cosette Hauer.

Claudia Forestieri, who serves as co-showrunner and executive producer of this series alongside Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz, expressed gratitude to Tubi for bringing it back for Season 2.

“Thanks to the tireless folks at Sony and my favorite new streamer Tubi, Gordita lives! Beyond happy to give the shows’ fans another chance to view our episodes and looking forward to sharing them with a new audience, too,” said Forestieri in a statement.

Muñoz-Liebowitz echoed her words and described Tubi’s decision to pick up this show as a huge win for comedy, for underrepresented audiences, and for fans who have been relentless in their support of the show.
