“Gotham” Star Davis Mazouz Teases Joker/Jeremiah Comparisons in Season 5

David Mazouz in "Gotham"

Davis Mazouz, who portrays Bruce Wayne as the emerged Batman we know and love on TV show Gotham, has teased what we can expect from the Joker/Batman and Jeremiah/Bruce relationship.

The fifth and final season of the show will bring together just about every Batman villain you can name including Penguin, Poison Ivy and Bane, to name a few. Of course, it is still the Joker that most fans are excited to see go up against the Dark Knight.

Still, it has not been confirmed by the show whether Jeremiah is definitively the Joker. Could Mazouz’s comments be all the confirmation we need?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Mazouz said: “Bruce and Jeremiah this season is very reminiscent of the Joker/Batman relationship. The Joker lives for the game of toying with Batman, but he never wants to defeat Batman because then his joy would be gone.

“He thrives off of escaping from Arkham and creating problems for Batman, and this is no different – Jeremiah thinks he’s best friends with Bruce, and he doesn’t want to kill or hurt his best friend.”

He then ominously adds: “He just wants to hurt everyone around his best friend.”

Although the Gotham star did not explicitly confirm that Jeremiah is the Joker, he certainly puts a lot of emphasis on the comparison.

Season 5 of Gotham will air January 3, 2019.
