Grant Gustin has promised fans that the new daughter-dad dynamic is going to be a lot of “fun”.

The Flash star plays Barry Allen on the show. Season four saw him receive a visit from his meta-human daughter who travelled from the future.

Gustin has promised that the dynamic is going to be “fun”, suggesting that the fifth season will take on a lighter tone than the recent segments.

“The dynamic between Barry and Nora has been a lot of fun to play with,” he said. “Nora really looks up to Barry, and they have a connection right away, and she brings out that kind of fun, more bubbly side of Barry that we don’t get to see quite as much anymore.”

That said, the show’s executive producer Todd Helbing has also suggested that the addition of Nora will mix things up for Barry and Iris. He said:

“They’re learning all of the lessons new parents learn when their kids grow up, but since she’s an adult it sort of adds this heightened scenario to all those decisions.”

Gustin added: “We learn pretty early on, which shouldn’t come as a huge shock, that Nora being here actually has something to do with [new villain] Cicada’s arrival.”

The Flash returns October 9th on The CW,.
