Griselda is one of the most anticipated new shows to premiere on Netflix this month—and it lived up to the hype! The true-life crime drama led by Sofía Vergara debuted atop Netflix’s English TV Chart after hitting No. 1 in 89 countries.
With 20.6 million total views scored during the January 22-28 viewing window, Griselda easily topped the English TV Chart, beating the likes of American Nightmare, Fool Me Once, Love on the Spectrum, and the first season of Yellowstone.
To make the whole thing even more impressive, Griselda wasn’t even available for the entirety of this viewing window, since it hit Netflix on January 25, with six episodes.
Griselda chronicles the journey of Griselda Blanco, the notorious cartel boss who rose to prominence in Miami during the 80s. Modern Family’s Sofía Vergara plays the titular role, while the supporting cast includes Alberto Guerra, Martin Rodriguez, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Vanessa Ferlito, and Christian Tappan.
As for the non-English language list, it was another big week for the Money Heist spin-off Berlin. This series has now tallied 50.1 million views in its first 31 days on Netflix, and it’s very close to making it to no. 9 on the streamer’s most popular list.
