The Shape of Water director will also personally choose the team of writers who will adapt his stories for television. This will be Netflix’s first original anthology series.

This won’t be the first time that Guillermo del Toro and Netflix work together. Del Toro already created an animated series Trollhunters for the streaming service, which ended up becoming a huge hit. Following the success of Trollhunters, del Toro announced that the animated series is expanding into a trilogy titled Tales of Arcadia.
