The ending of the first season of The Gentlemen left us craving more action, and Guy Ritchie will soon answer our prayers. Netflix renewed the acclaimed action comedy for Season 2, with Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings reprising their roles.
The first season of The Gentlemen centered on Eddie Horniman, who finds himself becoming the new Duke of Halstead following his father’s death. He quickly learns about an unexpected part of his inheritance – the illegal weed farm located underneath his father’s sizable country estate.
Eddie is initially hesitant to get wrapped around in this shady business but develops a taste for it as time goes by and forms a special connection with the ruthless notorious crime boss Bobby Glass and his daughter Susie, who’s the de facto head of his crime empire during his time in prison.
Season 2 renewal has been confirmed after James, Scodelario, and Daniel Ings agreed to reprise their roles. In addition to this trio, the first season of The Gentlemen also starred Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Ray Winstone, and Freddie Fox.
Guy Ritchie is returning to direct the next season, and he’s co-writing it alongside Matthew Read. Netflix placed an order for eight new episodes, set to kick off production later this year.
