The third season of Hacks just came to an end, and it didn’t take long for Max to renew it. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder are coming back for another hilarious adventure after this acclaimed comedy series was renewed for its fourth season.

Hacks centers on a legendary stand-up comedian Deborah Vance (Smart), who hires a young comedy writer Ava Daniels (Einbinder) to help reinvent her act. The third season saw Deborah riding high off her success while Ava tries to make a name for herself in Los Angeles. They eventually reunite, as Deborah decides to seek new career opportunities with Ava by her side.

In addition to the leading duo, the third season of Hacks also starred Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, J. Smith-Cameron, Helen Hunt, Christina Hendricks, Christopher McDonald, Christopher Lloyd, and Tony Goldwyn.

Sarah Aubrey, head of Max Original Programming, announced the show’s renewal and called the brilliant creative team behind this series a joy to work with.

Hacks is a masterfully crafted comedy delivering laughs and sharp insights about the vulnerability and joy of sharing a dream… We couldn’t be happier to give viewers another season with Deborah, Ava, and the rest of the Hacks family,” said Aubrey in a statement.
