Marvel has its Hawkeye on Hailee Steinfeld.

Disney+ will be the new home of a series about the comic book character whose strength is his master archery.

Jeremy Renner, who has played Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011, will be reprising his role in the limited series, with Steinfeld also being considered for a role.

If the Pitch Perfect actress does join the show, it is likely to be in the capacity of Kate Bishop, who, according to Marvel canon, took over the role of bow-wielding crusader after Renner’s Clint Barton stepped down.

Steinfeld is not the only female taking over a traditionally male Marvel character, as it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Chris Hemsworth will be passing the Thor hammer to Natalie Portman.

Disney+’s Hawkeye series is not the only Marvel show in the works, with Loki, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and Winter Soldier also making their television debuts when the streaming service gets up and running on November 12th.
