Fans lost it when it was announced that HBO is plotting a Harry Potter revival series, and they finally shared an exciting update about this project. Selected writers are currently pitching their ideas to Max, trying to put their own twists on J.K. Rowling’s beloved book series.

According to Deadline’s recent report, Martha Hillier (The Last Kingdom), Kathleen Jordan (Teenage Bounty Hunters), Tom Moran (The Devil’s Hour), and Michael Lesslie (The Little Drummer Girl) are among the writers presenting their vision to Warner Bros Television. The first round of pitch meetings already took place in Los Angeles, and the top choices are expected to proceed to the next round in the UK.

According to Deadline, there’s a possibility we’ll get more than one series set in the Wizarding World because the streamer is open to developing more than a single idea into a series and working with multiple writers. Rowling would come on board as an executive producer and she’ll be involved in the decision-making process.

Her hit book series already produced a successful movie franchise, led by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. They starred in eight Harry Potter movies, which grossed $7.7 billion worldwide. The success of this franchise also inspired the spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its two sequels.
