The first season of Dune: Prophecy made quite a splash since premiering on HBO, and there’s more where that came from! The mysterious women of Bene Gesserit will continue their rise to power after HBO renewed the acclaimed Dune spin-off series for its second season.
Dune: Prophecy is the origin story of Bene Gesserit, the fabled sect of powerful women that influence Arrakis’ politics behind the scenes. It takes place 10,000 years before the events of Dune and centers on two Harkonnen sisters who founded this secret order while combating forces that threaten the future of humanity.
Emily Watson and Olivia Williams lead the cast of Dune: Prophecy, which also includes Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.
Showrunner Alison Schapker confirmed the show’s renewal during a recent press conference and expressed gratitude to everyone who helped bring this project to life.
“We’re so thrilled and grateful for their support, for our partners at Legendary, and most of all that we get to keep working with these incredible people in front of and behind the camera and get to keep telling this story,” said Schapker in a statement.
