Euphoria fans have gotten used to waiting for new episodes of this series, but Sam Levinson is starting to really test their patience. HBO announced that Season 3 has been hit with another major delay because the scripts are still being written, but they’re still gunning for the 2025 release date.

After rumors about Season 3 being scrapped started making the rounds online, HBO bosses were quick to react. They released an official statement saying they “remain committed to making an exceptional third season” of Euphoria alongside creator Sam Levinson, but there’s a catch.

HBO’s statement also adds “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities,” casting the shadow of doubt over Season 3 because it remains unclear when the production would kick off since Levinson is yet to finalize the scripts.

Another thing that overcomplicates the show’s future are the busy schedules of its star-studded cast. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer all found major success with other projects in the past few years, while the supporting star Colman Domingo recently received an Oscar nod for his lead role in Rustin.

Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Nika King, and Storm Reid were also a part of Euphoria’s core cast, alongside the late Angus Cloud, and Barbie Ferreira, who left the series ahead of Season 3.
